CCB and the Localism Agenda

CCB has a mission to build strong communities, and empower individual citizens to make a local difference.  CCB is ideally positioned to deliver the Localism Agenda through its extensive local networks in Berkshire, community-led planning expertise and projects to deliver services.

In November 2010 it became clear that the changes emerging with the Localism Bill would have an enormous impact on the future delivery of services to Berkshire’s communities. Impacted in particular are CCB’s services related to provision of rural affordable housing and community planning.   Throughout the year the CCB team has monitored the Bill’s progress and assessed how the changes will affect how we deliver our projects.

Localism and the changes due to come through the National Planning Policy Framework, represent the biggest changes to planning and housing delivery in decades.  CCB will continue to ensure it is at the forefront of understanding these changes and deliver training and guidance to community groups on the changes, how they will be affected and how they can capitalise on opportunities.
