It provides an on-line community for individuals, community organisations, voluntary organisations, small businesses and public bodies dedicated to supporting the needs of their local community.
Successful COMMA Funding 2010-11 Announced
ACRE recently announced that 57 organisations were awarded grants under the 2010-11 COMMA grants programme. The COMMA funding available this year was £437,500 with the successful projects receiving grants of between £3,000 and £20,000.
Since 2007 the COMMA fund has supported a wide range of projects which provide genuine and lasting benefit in communities affected by quarrying.
CCB ran the programme for Berkshire. The successful applicants in Berkshire for the 2010-11 round were as follows:
- Hampstead Norreys Community Shop were awarded £6978 to help run and establish their community shop.
- The Ufton Court Education Trust Ourtdoor Adventure Centre were awarded £7500
- Funding of £8256 went to creating Community Buildings with the installation of Solar Panels.
The COMMA fund is now closed for applications and it is unclear whether COMMA will continue beyond the 2010-2011 round. Any information CCB has on the future of the fund will be posted on this website as soon as it is available.
