Superfast Broadband

Broadband: Superfast Berkshire
“…Our goal is simple: within this parliament we want Britain to have the best superfast broadband network in Europe.” Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
Increasing access to broadband for households, business and communities in poorly served areas across the UK is a key policy focus for the Coalition Government. This includes bringing connectivity to those areas still without a basic level of broadband access.
The Government has allocated £530m to bring broadband to every premises in the UK by 2015, with 90% coverage at superfast speeds. The remaining 10% will gain access to broadband of at least 2Mbps.
The six Berkshire unitary authorities and the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), supported by CCB, are working together to promote Superfast Berkshire, a programme of work to deliver the local element of the Government’s programme.
We need your help.
In order to get the best deal for Berkshire, generating demand for superfast broadband is crucial. We would like every community in Berkshire to work together to promote the programme and support it by encouraging everyone to register their interest in superfast broadband services. Registrations of interest can be made at: www.superfastberkshire.org.uk
