Children, Elderly, Adults & Children with Disabilities,

The Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards Scheme provides funding that goes towards providing practical benefits, such as equipment and resources for projects that directly benefit children, the elderly and adults and children with disabilities, living in the local communities around their stores in the UK.

What For?
There are two categories of Community Awards:
Grants to support children’s welfare and/or children’s educations (including special needs schools)
Grants to support elderly people and/or adults and children with disabilities
Projects they have previously supported include:
Playground equipment in schools and local communities
Sensory garden or room projects
Outdoor classrooms
Breakfast and after school clubs
Holiday play-schemes
Part funding to purchase minibuses
Befriending schemes
Luncheon clubs / youth clubs
Specialist equipment for disabled people
Day trips / social trips – for elderly / disabled people

How Much?
One-off donations of between £500 and £4,000.
 
Larger grants range between £4,000 and £25,000 and are to support local, national or international projects in areas where Tesco operate. Further information is at

Applications should be made between 1st December 2010 & 31st January 2011.
 
Elderly people and/or adults and children with disabilities
Applications should be made between 1st February 2011 & 31st March 2011
 
Decisions will not be finalised for approximately 3 months after the closing date of each round.
