World Energy for Local Use

Security of our energy sources is not just a matter for International, National and Regional politicians. It is vital that our local councils and town and country planners play their part in ensuring that energy is plentiful and available at affordable prices to everyone from the richest to the most vulnerable in our local community. Locally it is important that the services are in place to enable householders to 'power down' their homes. That they are encouraged by local council's policies and the flexibility of planners to provide an element of microgeneration for their homes in order to allow them to gain some 'self-sufficiency' as insurance against international political pressures.

This film from the EU Tube explains the international prespective of energy supply. To some extent it forms the basis for the case, that areas like the Lambourn Valley should take advantage of the living space available to local residents and for the community to encourage the take up of domestic micro generation.
