West Berkshire Community Development Workers meet
Sovereign South+West hosted a lively lunch for Community Development Workers (CDW's) working across West Berkshire last November. Thanks to all who came and made it such a success!
The CDW network lunch aims to provide a place for CDW's to get to know each other and to exchange ideas and good practice.Past lunches have provided a range of opporutinities including the showing of two films about mental health issues, made by Mental Health First Aid and Open Secrets Film.

The films highlighted what a good vehicle the media is to get a point across and to start discussion with groups.
It was agreed to work together to develop a series of skills exchange workshops in the New Year. Topics suggested included:
Developing successful partnerships
Tips on consultation
How to develop intergenerational projects
Ways to motivate and empower people
Linking learning to our work
How to access project funding
How to survive without funding
Evaluating and reflecting our projects.
We will be meeting again on 7th February 2011 and if any CDW wishes to be put on our mailing list please let Sarah Ward or Annie Yau-Karim know by emailing:
