- Thanks to funding from the Government's Office of Civil Society (OCS), social enterprises in the South East may be eligible for a grant of up to £1,000
Green Deal for households and businesses
- The Green Deal will allow householders to enjoy the benefits of efficiency measures and the energy bill savings they can bring, without the need for providing their own up-front finance. Green Deal customers will be entitled to an independent assessment of their home’s energy efficiency, and improvements will be carried out by kite-marked installers. Detailed proposals will be laid out in a Bill in the autumn, and we expect this to be available from 2012.

Government turns its back on Pub saving programme- A race against time has begun to help communities wanting to save their local pub after the Government turned its back on offering support to the 39 communities facing pub closures every week. It was announced recently that an emergency Co-operative Pub Summit is being called by the Plunkett Foundation as a response to news that a co-operative pubs support programme has been cancelled.
