Birth of ‘The West Berkshire Countryside Society’
Birth of ‘The West Berkshire Countryside Society’
At a packed meeting in Upper Bucklebury Memorial Hall last Thursday evening, the members of the Friends of the Pang, Kennet and Lambourn Valleys, The Pang Valley Conservation Volunteers and the Bucklebury Heathland Conservation Group voted unanimously to merge their membership and resources. After a lively discussion they chose ‘The West Berkshire Countryside Society’ as the name of the merged organisation.
‘The West Berkshire Countryside Society’ will act as an umbrella organisation allowing the specialist groups to continue and extend their work of conserving and enhancing the West Berkshire countryside and of introducing local people, visitors and businesses to its attractions and beauties.
Anyone interested in finding out more about the new society or in joining in its activities can contact us and can find out more about what we do via our website www.pangandkennetvalleys.org.uk .
