Action For All is for EVERYONE!
It provides an on-line community for individuals, community organisations, voluntary organisations, small businesses and public bodies dedicated to supporting the needs of their local community.
Privacy Policy
At Community Council for Berkshire (CCB) we recognize that privacy is important. It's important to CCB that Action For All’s members retain their privacy when they take advantage of all that Action For All has to offer. This privacy statement applies specifically to the Action For All web portal service provided by CCB. The service contains public areas which may be viewed from any internet-connected PC. Other areas are restricted to access by members of the Action For All service.
Become a member to receive our free E-Bulletin
By clicking on this button you are applying for membership to Action For All. The personal information you give us will be stored securely. Action For All is hosted by a third party (NetXtra) who is under an obligation to hold the information securely and confidentially in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is prohibited from making use of the information itself. If any of the information you have given us changes at any time, you can update this information.
Communication between us and you
CCB will use membership information to communicate with you by e-mail, post or telephone. For example, we will provide you with the Action For All E-Bulletin (newsletter) or we may telephone you with a query or to notify you personally of any changes to service. You may decide to use RSS feeds to receive updates of changes to Action For All. We will also use the information for our own internal membership administration and for statistical analysis.
Communication with other Groups on Action For All
You may wish to become a member of other groups with micro-sites (websites) set up on Action For All. Action For All will provide a facility to enable you to contact a group to join their website and opt to receive their e-bulletin (newsletter). The group will then have your email address.
Registration for a Directory Listing
CCB will display the information provided when an organisation registers for a directory listing in a ‘Group Details’ page. This will be accessible by the general public using the Directory Search option on Action For All’s home page. An organisation will be free to amend this information at anytime.
Information Sharing
CCB will not share personal information regarding individuals who apply for membership of Action For All except with permission when the information is requested, or by written permission thereafter. We will share information contained in the Directory Listing with other Voluntary and Charitable organisations, statutory organisations and other identified key partners. We will also share information in order to comply with our legal obligations, to enforce the terms and conditions of use of Action For All or to protect and defend the rights and interests or property of CCB, or other members. By disclosing information about you to us on our web-site or in any other way, you consent to the use of that information in the manner set out in this policy.
Accessing and Updating Personal Information
When you use Action For All, CCB makes good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardise the privacy of others or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes) or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort.
Data Integrity
CCB processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Privacy Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to make sure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our services. We take reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information we process is accurate, complete and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.
Data Protection Act
As required by Data Protection legislation, CCB has notified the Data Protection Registrar of the types of information we hold, the purposes for which we hold it and the third parties to whom we may disclose it.
Notification of Change of Privacy Policy
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent and we expect that most changes will be minor. Regardless, we will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes). Each version of this Privacy Policy will be identified at the top of the page by its effective date and we will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for your review. If you have any additional questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please feel free to contact us.
