ALDWORTH VIEWFINDER SCREENING A HIT!

Local residents packed into Aldworth Village Hall last Friday to see a film made by young people about their village. The Aldworth Viewfinder Project is the young people's contrubution to the village's community plan and was funded by the Youth Opportunities Fund, Aldworth Parish Council and The Big Buzz Challenge. Young people have spent the last few months working with Real Time Media to develop their skills in film making. They thought about the past, the present and the future of their community and highlighted some of the issues they as young people face, such as a lack of transport. local facilities, speeding traffic and mobile phone reception.
James Craggs Arts Development Officer, Sarah Ward CCB's Community Planning Development Worker, Tanya Honor BACYP's Participation Worker and Di Benger from the Youth Opportuniites Fund came to see the film and oultined how they might help the young people in developing some of their ideas.
Cllr. Alan Law who attended said " I thought the film was great and I congratulate the young people on their enthusiasm and energy , it has been a great evening"
Pauline Sheppard a local resident commented "The film. was brilliant and everyone loved the whole atmosphere of the evening!"
Tanya Honor BACYP's Children, Young People and Family Participation Worker said "The Aldworth film was fantastic, I thought that the young people really captured their thoughts and experiences of services within their area in an effective, humorous way''
The film will be given a second showing at the Community Planning Conference in Chieveley this week
