East Garston Allotments Association now have water

East Garston allotment holders are celebrating being awarded a grant of £475 from West Berkshire Council's Healthy Active Parishes Programme. (HEAP) This follows an earlier grant from Awards for all of £5785 which was used to set the allotments up.

The HEAP grant will be used  to cover the costs of 2 additional water troughs and woodchip for the central pathway. The extra troughs will give the village a larger reservoir for congested summer evening watering sessions.

The allotments are located up the hill above the village with beautiful views across the valley. The asssociation is planning a barbecue in August for all those involved, to celebrate their summer successes.
