Frilsham's Future finds Parish Plan Surgery so useful..
Released on 02/07/2010
Researching and gathering useful information is a key part of Community Planning. It is important for communitiesto understand what help is available and also for the Local Authority to hear what communities want. West Berkshire Council holds Parish Plan Surgeries every 3 months so that communities can come and meet their officers and gather information which they can then use to develop their action plans
.
The Frilsham's Future Team attended the most recent Parish Plan Surgery on the 24th June. They met with The Countryside Team to discuss rights of way, The Adult and Community Learning Team to find out how they can help them develop greater learning opportuhnities and lastly The Highways Team to find out about speed restrictions and road repairs. They also had the opportunity to put questions to Isabel King from Business Link.
Jules de Jongh chair of the Frilsham's Future Team wrote to the Community Planning Team to say:
"Many thanks for the surgery, it was so helpful. Now the team can build an action list based on knowledge rather than speculation. All the officers were full of information and advice, a worth while evening for sure. I can now share all the details with the wider group.Again thank you so much ."
The next Parish Plan Surgery wil be held on Thursday 30th September at 5.30pm at West Berkshire Council Market Street Newbury. Any Parish Plan Teams wishing to attend should contact Jo Naylor West Berkshire Council's Principal Policy Officer for Community Planning with a list of questions by the 16th September at the latest.
