Highclere Ecovation
  • Victorian 3-bed with partial rebuild and extension
  • Underfloor heating, solar thermal panels, sedum roof section, rainwater harvesting
  • Saturday 11th September: 1400-1600

 Hungerford Ecohouse

  • Still under construction, but likely to be almost complete by September
  • Code 5 ecohouse. Solar thermal, photovotaics; biomass boiler; rainwater harvesting; triple glazing; underfloor heating
  • £2 donation (to go to Hungerford Environmental Action Team)
  • Saturday 11th September: 1400-1700
    Sunday 12th September: 1400-1700

Living Rainforest (Hampstead Norreys)

  • Commercial 220kW biomass heating system for tropical glasshouses. Visitors to meet at the Human Impact Building at the Living Rainforest.
  • Human Impacts Building built using sustainable building materials and design
  • Visitors WILL have to pay if they want to see the rest of the attraction!!!

Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre

  • Teaching room built using sustainable materials, passive solar design, rainwater harvesting and grey water system, sedum roof and wood pellet heating system. Self-guided tour.

  • Saturday 11th September: 1100-1500
    Sunday 12th September: 1100-1500

  • (Also hosting Think Green, Act Green event on Saturday 11th September. Times TBC) 

Upper Bucklebury Ecohouse

  • New build (2007) 3 bedroom ecohouse: Ground source heat pump; heat recovery ventilation; photovoltaics; biomass boilers
  • Saturday 11th September: 0900-1200, 1400-1600
    Sunday 12th September: 1400-1600
