David Ellis

David is a PRINCE2 qualified Project Manager experienced in leading both voluntary sector and commercial projects. David is an experienced trainer and currently lectures in Business Management at Coventry University.
David’s background is in software engineering and telecoms, having spent 18 years with Marconi as a team leader and project manager. His voluntary sector experience stems from work with Mind, overseas volunteering with Tearfund, and 5 years with capacity building charity ruralnet|uk.
David has a BSc. In Computer Science and Chemistry, an MSc. in Telecommunication and Information Systems, an Advanced Diploma in Management Application and a diploma in Teaching Adults.
Whilst at ruralnet|uk David designed and delivered workshops for voluntary and community groups covering a variety of topics, including ICT strategic planning, promoting online collaboration, and using ICT to support community engagement. He has worked with a wide variety of organisations – Limited companies, social enterprises, charities and community groups – either as project partners (working together on a government funded project) or as clients.
David is an Outcomes Champion under the Charities Evaluation Services’ National Outcomes Programme, and has trained and supported a variety of front-line charities in measuring the effectiveness of their work.
